Very sunny start light cumulous has appeared since about 10.00 - high stratus dimming the sun but breaks are appearing and sun is getting through at times. Decent weather for my local village fete and certainly the best Saturday weather here for many weekends!

Wall to wall sunshine to start, then cloud steadily increased from NE by mid morning, and largely cloudy for around 2 hours, but this steadily broke up and largely sunny again from mid afternoon onwards, warm in the sunny spells, temps around 19c, and feeling warm in light winds.

A few light showers during the first half of last night gave 0.4 mm of rain but during the early hours the cloud cleared and it became quite chilly, the coolest July night since 2000.

It was a sunny start to the morning but cloud increased steadily from 0800 and from then until around 1400 it was rather cloudy with sunny intervals at times. The lower cloud dispersed during mid-afternoon and it became generally sunny to end the day but with a fresh NW wind.

Managed 17.5°C here which is the highest maximum temperature since 15th, if that can be believed, which of course it can be, here. Not quite enough to really enjoy being outdoors for any length of time without getting cold. Would like to see the next 20 arrive soon.

A fine summers day and feeling very comfortable even in the strong sunshine. Not wall to wall blue skies mind, lots of cloud about. This evening has been a lovely fine clear one - not had one for a while. Tonight as with last night looks another chilly one in these parts temps easily will fall to 5 degrees and quite possible a good couple of degrees lower which for late July is cold.

Tomorrow looks a smashing day with more sunshine and less cloud and feeling warmer with temps hopefully climbing close to the 20 degree mark - perfect for getting out and about and perfect for the airshow here at lake windermere - the airshow weekend is probably the busiest of the year for these parts in terms of number of holidaymakers and it is the one weekend when many pray for good weather - it often is mind.. how fortunate last weekends weather happened when it did.
