Beautiful sunny and warm day mid-Somerset for the whole day - managed to catch ten minutes outside the office when it was about 22C. Warmth continued on way home where edge of the sheet of stratus was. Sat down in garden to catch some rays at 6.15 and sun went in at that point and hasn't shone since.

:cray:

Stratus now thinning.

A very lovely 22.5C here today, this is borderline hot for us up this way. Another few days of this and we will have a month which is well above average, I feel for the easties who have been under a chilly north-east breeze :( Now you know how we in the west feel in winter when you're getting pasted with snow and we get sunshine... :( all round

Feels very close and humid here despite not being that tropical (16c), probably because its all so very still though, no breeze at all!

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
