really?... we have been plagued by cloud, as has much of the eastern side of the uk, just as i expected...(bugger....i was hoping to be wrong) even now its really dull. even when the sun did come out it wasnt all that warm, you couldnt sit outside long in short sleeves..

...and the mess continues, i dont like messy synoptics as ive often moaned about. weak areas of both low and high pressure around the country often is cloudy, muggy, warm or cool, some rain some dry, in all a right smorgesboard (sp?) of weather types thatll suit some in favoured areas, but not others . i note the 10c isotherm 'upper' is still around the southeastern half of the country early next week, if this transpires itll either be smashing in any sun, or muggy and humid under any cloud ( i expect milky bright skies).

Its been delightful to the west of the pennines all week and things seem set to continue in the short-medium term.

Usual low cloud start - and temp identical to 24 hours ago at 15.8c. Wonder if the cloudy will partly clear at the same time (1700) as well. Fed up of this now. Ruddy easterlies.

Yesterday was a fantastic day after morning cloud cleared, sunny and warm with very clear air, max 23.9C. It was a bit odd that the MetO weather widget on my website said it was cloudy all day. It's saying cloudy for the next 4 days but I wouldn't mind betting there's more sunshine than that.

Mainly cloudy start but bright with some patches of blue sky mainly to the west.

This is an ideal setup for us in the West Country with some pleasant sunny warm weather while parts of the east remain plagued by cloud. Once more this morning it is sunny and warm already with 17.5C currently.

A fantastic start to the day here, with nothing but blue skies. The satellite image is looking great for my area today. Hopefully nothing but sunshine!

Interesting to note that the sheet of cloud is starting to erode slowly from the West, so I don't think it will be slate grey skies for everyone East of Manchester all day. :)

sun from 08.00-11.00, since when Cumulus has developed and spread out beneath an increase in Altocumulus.

Max so far 22.1c, 21.6c now with humdity 56%.

Woke to blue skies and very warm sunshine, it has since clouded over and at one point I really thought a storm would kick off due to the oppressive heat and humidity and not to mention very black clouds. However it looks as though it all might pass over.

Yes, some breaks have appeared in the stratocumulus sheet over Cleadon over the last couple of hours- interestingly the clearest skies here are actually out at sea with the cloud sheet proving more stubborn inland, perhaps inland convection may be helping to hold it in place.
