Looks like we're going to squeeze another decent day out down here with variable cloud and some warm sunny intervals. Currently 14.1C

Breezy, 13c. Another poor forecast by the Met Office, hours of rain turned out to be half an hour of moderate rain. Doesn't look like Cumbria will be getting it's 50 - 100 mm!

I must say it was a lamentably inaccurate forecast from the Met' Office for this area regarding today so far. Even the western part of the Peak and the High Peak have had very little rain despite a forecast of a generally wet day at 0430.

Currently dry and windy with bright or short sunny intervals and a temp' of 16.8c.

Edit; light rain has begun to fall even as I type.

Edit 2; Oh no the sun's out again.

15C, windy and chucking it down. That should keep the looters inside tonight.

Just 15c, very autumnal feel, very dull, windy and blustery rain at times, looks like this evening/ tonight we will get our rain as we missed most of the frontal rain/

It maybe a mild night tonight, but I think the heating may go on for a bit later...

The radar makes for interesting viewing for us in the Peak District. Any of this moderate-heavy rain that moves east over the Pennines just sort of dies out, before reinvigorating west of the pennines, starting the process over again. As a result, apart from the odd moderate burst, we have had very little rain, just drizzle occasionally. Even had some good sunny spells this morning!!

    • Wet March so far with more rain for the rest of the month, but hints of more settled weather early April

It's been a wet March for much of the UK, with well above average rainfall, though the Northern & Western Isles have been drier than average. Despite a colder drier respite on Monday, staying generally unsettled to see out the rest of the month. But hints of some drier weather in early April. Read the full update here
