    13W is not in an ideal environment for strengthening. Strong subsidence is causing 13W to only maintain a modest amount of convection just west of the LLC. Shear is also set to increase, as well as waters cool as 13W tracks northeastwards southeast of Japan. Based on recent satellite trends, 13W may briefly become a tropical storm before the shear increases.

    13W's intensity has reduced to 25kts. The depression has not managed to attain storm status, and the convection has completely collapsed this evening, leaving the LLC completely exposed. With further dry air filtering into the core of 13W, increasing shear and decreasing sea temps, 13W will soon dissipate.
