Miffed by the lack of a MetO warning to be honest

I just looked for that and was surprised not to see one.

No rain here at the moment but apparently raining in the New Forest which is flippin infuriating as I was going there to photograph butterflies & dragonflies today with friends - having to settle for meeting for lunch instead! Mind you, I wont moan if the flashes 'n rumbles come this way cool.png Think I'll be giving the airshow a miss tomorrow though unless we get a sudden unexpected heatwave lol

South Westerly set ups are boring me. Always peters out when it reaches Bristol. Not looking good for here on the weekend either for any exciting stuff...

Anyway that is some intense rain on radar on the south coast. I am too surprised no warning has been given by the Met office, not even an advisory?

Not very often you see a WHITE on the MO radar! Looks intense down there. Nothing to really indicate up here that we are going to get the forecast heavy showers............YET!

How have the MetO not got any warnings or advisories for that rain?? Is it below their trigger or something? Doesn't make sense that not even an yellow advisory is out...

Difficult to forecast what was going to happen today TBH. Certainly the intensity wasn't there earlier, thank god for the NW forecast eh? :winky:

Heard on BBCR2 reports of cars being stuck in floodwaters up to their bonnets in what is in/around the Bournemouth area.

the rain has all but stopped where I am in Bmouth for now but amazing contrasts in the sky. sun almost poking through and every shade of grey / black in the world, surface wind is fairly strong out of NE and cold, creating some lovely swirling cloud as it meets the upper winds out of the S / SW.

I cant find my camerra :(

It's just started absolutely chucking it down here and is so dark that if I wasn't going out I would have the lights on! Oh well, off to the Forest I go for my ploughmans (nom nom). I hate driving in the rain (thanks to an accident years ago) so will be taking it rather slowly! unsure.png

8.0mm as of 11.40am here in Newbury and my location is nowhere near the heaviest precip down NF way at the moment.

If anything the heavy bursts are pulsing inland NNE'wards from the IOW and building more strongly according to NW v5 radar. ohmy.png

Pretty cold for August too, is it not! only 11.7c and 98% humidity. ohmy.png

Thunder or no Thunder, today will be a memorable day for some.

Cheers
