Someone should tell the BBC & MetOffice its only rain not rioters. No need for the almost 'blackout' of coverage on both the radio and television over this, what the hell do we pay the license fee for if they don't provide a news service?

Yes, they are quite happy to put out snow warnings over a small area of Kent left, right and centre through winter. No consistency whatsoever.

....and looking at the latest radar the not widespread enough excuse doesn't hold either!

Lol, although be fair - in one of those events we had over a foot and a half of snow (late Nov into Dec)...over the past three winters, I've seen routinely 8-16 inches of snow at one point or another (which is incredible compared to the lack of snow in the previous 21 years of my life!)

But I agree....to say the "heavy rain" was forecast and is not widespread is a bloody joke! They even issue warnings for small CZs which on occasions (there was one last summer which ended in a bust across the S Downs) extend no more than 5 miles across and 10 miles long.

Cop out

Yes and to put it into perspective last November I was trapped on the A1 in Northumberland in very heavy snow and had to abandon the car, the Met had issued a yellow warning but put Edinburgh and Lothian in a red warning. They had nowhere near as much snow as that part of Northumberland. Anyway rant over lets hope they see sense and put some kind of warning out as it appears to be intensifying around Bournemouth again?

Now do I head west or stay put? I am undecided at the moment.

It might be worth heading to Winchester.

Yeap a nice straight line of heavy precipitation from Chesham to Christchurch heading northeast.

It seems the thunder has stopped and did not get to far from the coast.

Lokking at Coast's radar snapshot at 11.45 I think the intensive rain is passing now over Reading...slightly easing a tiny bit now than it was 10 mins ago....reports coming through of some flash floods on the highway

"Poole bus station is 18 inches deep in water, but a spokesman for Wilts & Dorset said buses are still running, with some delays."

Sorry? How many inches do we need before we get warned?? The rest of you in firing line ... BE WARNED!
