After an interchangeable start with some cloud and sunny spells this morning, following a low of 10C (under cloud for the night), the rain band pushing in from the WNW moved in at about 2pm and clipped the area, receiving roughly 1-2mm around Durham/Washington. Since then the sun has came out for the first time in a while and it's seemingly warmer with less of a breeze as the high pressure system moves in towards tonight - Durham Observatory is at 14.1C as of 1800, the maximum was 15.6C at 1200, and despite falling during the afternoon rain, has rose from 13.2C at 1500.

Currently under clear skies, with little wind, although there is some cloud towards the north and west, the areas south and especially east are under fully deep blue skies.

Tomorrow looks interesting as the high pressure moves over Britain, but at least for Durham it looks quite dull and cloudy, with a mid-teen high expected, and a increasingly North to North Easterly wind, which may well be non-existant as HP moves over us.

Thursday looks warmer with a S flow, as HP moves into the N Sea, but only on Friday does it like very warm round the nation as the milder 10C uppers reach the Midlands and further North, with the nation under 5C uppers, I'd imagine 25C possibly being hit in the London suburbs - on Saturday slightly more of the same and gradually cooling down again as the week ends and the new week begins.

A day of cloud and dry weather with cool temps. However there has been a small area of clear skies just to the south of us in the channel, so currently cloudy to the west and North but clear blue skies edging closer from the SE.
