There seem to be some consistent signs that places east of Dungeness-Herne Bay could see some imports moving over these parts of Kent, and of course if you live further west you're still likely to see distant lightning. NMM & 'tweaked' and 'untweaked' NAE are certainly showing this.

Just seen the 6z NAE - and my god! It brings them right over Kent and much of East Anglia! A much increased westward movement.

Edit: now accompanied by a much increased westward movement from the 6z GFS too!

I'm at my mates all day and night in a spectacularly poor signal area (no 3G either) so will most certainly be keeping a beady on proceedings but won't be able to frequent here much :cray:

12z NAE brings it back in line with the 0z (ie east Kent and then offshore Suffolk/Essex). Seems like a reasonable outcome to me given the general agreement amongst the models now. Lightning extent rather questionable, mind.

looking rather good for a kent clipper over the next few hours...For those on the SE coast, its definitely worth keeping your eyes peeled for flashes out in the channel soon

Possible storm heading Kent way. Heavy rain and it appears to be of an electric nature. Some of you could be in for a pleasant surprise. smile.png

Looking like a hit for anyone East of Folkestone.

Much cloudier in the last hour here, very humid and still 20c. Went to get the washing in a short while ago and there was the odd spit spot of rain but that's it so far...have everything crossed though as I still haven't had a proper storm here this summer

This is something to watch for sure, not sure if it'll even get to London but there is a chance!

Ive just got back from The Firehills Hastings, with a view straight across The Channel. No lightning visible but I could hear the occasional very distant rumble of thunder. Close but no cigar.....yet

Missed so many potential storms this year. However got lucky this evening. Drove down to just West of St Valery Sur Somme today and for the last hour or so we have been treated to a magnificent display of intra cloud and cloud to ground ...... very very nice indeed and I hope it hops the channel for you guys as its a goodun :-)

The rain has shifted ever so slightly further to the west now

Seems to be a dud for the SE then. As usual I suspect the electrical stuff will steer off into the Benelux.
