Warmest September night I've recorded last night with 18.4C as the low! This is also the highest minimum of the year - incredible.

Having said that, a grey and boring, rather humid and still start. Not much precipitation about considering the synoptic setup.

Warmest night of the 'Summer' and 2011.

Min 16.7c, a real tropical feel since yesterday evening. In fact it rose to 18c @ 0400 before dropping off late night and early this morning!

Spells of rain and drizzle this morning, fresh to strong southerly.

23.2C max at Cleadon today- warmer than any day of July or August! It was cloudy in the morning then sunny intervals and warm/breezy in the afternoon.

The TV forecasts (BBC + ITV) were adamant that this afternoon would be dry across the North East, which I always had doubts over as the forecast models (including the UKMO FAX) indicated that bands of showers were likely. Cleadon has stayed mostly dry, but currently having a light shower from a line of cumulus congestus clouds.
