The day dawned with a stunning pinky red sunrise .

Hazy sunshine until mid morning with one light shower and since 10.30 dull and overcast with low Stratocumulus.

Last week: was away for a week holidaying and house-sitting in Whitstable, and we got lucky with the weather, which was better than we've had for some time. Initially cloudy and warm with some sunny intervals, didn't get much rain from ex-hurricane Katya and what little we had came through Sunday night/Monday morning. The new week started bright and windy; the wind died down fom Wednesday onwards leaving a benign settled period with plenty of sunshine and near-average temperatures - the rain started again while we were driving back to Reading. The thermometer here recorded a maximum fo the period of 23.5 and minimum of 7.1. And the seafood and sunsets were excellent
