  • 3 weeks later...

I came back from holiday today expecting it to be really cold in my flat I was quite surprised not bad at all. I was told the weather last week was pretty chilly but it's pretty mild compared to last year. I wonder what it will be like in Jan. I've got my thermo on at about 18c and its fine although I do live in a new build so the insulation is good.

The traditional battle continues here, the wife puts it on, I turn it off, nothing changes overall. The difference this year of course is thanks to the weather I'm winning, perhaps come the New Year she'll fight back and again make it a Winter of two halves...

Heating is 'on' alot as the missus is now off for xmas hols (and I'm almost done) so house is occupied a lot. But it isn't having to work too hard these last two days with it so much milder. It fell to only 16c in here overnight last night rather than the more usual 13c at this time of year. I'm happy - gas is expensive and I want to spend my money on other things I need and want instead of heating bills!

Although many of us are saving money with the generally mild conditions, you can bet your life the utilities companies will be putting our bills up in the New Year!!!!
