Gravesend was the warmest place up to 1pm with a max of 26c. I suspect that could still manage to rise a couple of degrees.

Gravesend is usually always one of the hottest places.

Hit 33c there this summer believe it or not!

People complain we've had a onions summer and then we get some sun and people complain it's too hot. Not on here but in general.

What do they expect? A thermostat so they can adjust the heat for every person?

Well, that would be ideal.

You can if you want, but the UV won't be that high, and you probably will have to sit in the sun for hours to get any notable change in colour blum.gif

This is a myth, the sun is easily strong enough to produce a change in skin colour if you're out at the right time. Spending two hours outside either side of solar midday would be enough for me to notice a change in my skin, although I do tan quite easily.

Purely brilliant today and so much more to come. Nearly 26c here and it's clear the GFS has undercooked the temperatures by a good 3c as usual. Best settled spell in summer terms since 2006 I believe. Not hot but very warm and non stop sun for about a week. Summer wasn't that bad here so this week just made things even better. :D

Hmm, my weather station is reporting the following readings...

Temperature: 29.1 °C

Dew Point: 17 °C

Humidity: 39%

Wind: SW at 8km/h

Pressure: 1017hPa

TBH, it does feel like the hottest day of the year, I'm not convinced on the validity of my reading, it is shaded & screened though..yet it ties with the somewhat with the local www.wunderground.com stats for Penkridge, which is showing 32C (that surely can't be right, can it?)

Very very unlikely, the 39% humidity just sounds weird to me, never mind the 29C - regardless, very hot!

Incredible weather, not a cloud in Cheltenham today and a temperature of 26C. So interesting to see leaves on the floor in such warm weather. The sun still feels hot enough despite it being late September. I can barely remember such a pristine pure blue sky in this country- it certainly has been a while!

Just had a phone call from one of my best buddies who is an ex-pat now living just outside Orlando, Florida. I asked him what the temperature was and he said about 82 DgF. I told him it wasn't far from that here and after 5 minutes laughing he asked again what the real temperature was - so I'm going to send him this:

I wouldn't be so sure, it's definitely the warmest day of the year here, and the humidity actually would be correct given a dewpoint of 17C and an 2m temp of 29C...numerous non-official weather stations are reporting 27C+ in the West Midlands...Official weather stations at Shawbury & RAF Cosford (both within 15 miles of me) are reporting recorded screen temps of 25C & 26C respectively

Not really official, but Hawarden seems to be doing well:
