After a dry spell during mid-morning it's turned decidedly wet here with at least another hour of it to come by the look of the radar.

I'm not complaining of course but I heard Laura Tobin give out the weather forecast at 12.55 and tell us that the whole of this area would be dry and quite warm, apart from a few showers over Gloucestershire and Worcestershire. Do these presenters never look at the radar?

Driving home this evening, spells of rain, this very heavy at times through north Pembrokeshire, but lighter through Ceredigion.

Upon checking the webcam and WS back home, there have been sunny intervals on a fairly warm day here. Cloudy after 1630, with some mostly light rain at times this evening. A fresh to strong SSE wind.

As expected, today was a bit of a role reversal of yesterday. A much better first half deteriorating mid afternoon, with cloud and light rain setting in. Right now we have some heavy rain - it will be the last bout of decent precipitation for some time... Mind we have had a wetter than average September.

Quite a warm muggy feel to things as well, the upcoming week hopefully will have less of a humid muggy feel as we import some very dry continental air indeed, it is certainly going to feel very pleasant indeed. A great week to have off work for all those lucky people who have booked this week off, even more so if you have planned a holiday in this country. Under the brilliant sunshine, the autumn colours should look great.
