    There was a hot pulse of southerly air that pushed northwards across the British Isles during the last week of September 1913.

    Maxima temperatures include

    25.7C at Camden Square on the 27th

    22.1C at Ipswich on the 26th

    24.1C at Launceston on the 27th

    26.1C at North Cadbury on the 27th

    25.9C at Hodsock Priory on the 27th

    22.7C at Cargen on the 28th

    Totland Bay and Jersey did not fall below 16.7C on the 27th and 28th
