23.6c according to the Davis 18 feet above the house roof. The September record of 25.3c in 2006 is going to take some beating but it may be close.

25 DgC in ultra sunny Burgess Hill and a cool 21.3 DgC in slight winds back home on the coast.

27.2c, this could very well be a record (if only I worked for the Met Office!)

Doncaster airport showing 29C on the NW top 20, fits mine also with 29.1C at 1422 BST-another hot 'summers' day.

Currently 24.9c after a max of 25.5c. The wind has picked up a bit from earlier to deliver a lovely fresh breeze.

Hi All

In Totterdown, Bristol, at my urban site I have recorded 28.6C at 14:00 GMT this afternoon. This is not a record for my site as my previous calibrated max/min thermometers exceptionally recorded 31.8C on or around September 5th 2004 whilst I was away on holiday. In September 2003 I recorded 28.7C.

Do other people have such high temperatures for September 2004?

Regards

Barry

Sunny all day in Cleadon, quite hazy until mid-morning but the haze has largely thinned out since then. A high of 25.0C following an overnight minimum of 13.4C (quite high for late September but, unlike the day's maximum, nothing exceptional) and still a light-moderate southerly wind preventing the sea breezes from penetrating onshore. Interestingly at 1pm it was only 21C at the sea-front despite being 24C at Cleadon just two miles inland at the same time.

Thus, two of the three warmest days of the year here have been the 28th and 29th September and I think things are looking pretty promising for a hat-trick tomorrow. I don't see my September record of 26.6C on 2 September 1999 being beaten, but the 1st October might beat the 23.0C of the 8th October 1995.

Is that your yearly high?

no

It was a bit higher 3 August at 30.1C, and other sites close by me recorded similar,I had 32.9C in late June again along with 1 other site about 1.5 miles from me. Very sheltered back garden but the temps are accurate in the main. Exceptions that look out by more than 1C I double check amending if due to early/late sun at varying times of the year.

The 29.9C I've maxed out at today is the highest ever since I started 1 January 1997 and only 0.1C below the absolute RAF Finningley record for September of 30.0C in 1949 on the 5th.

Not much lower yesterday and probably similar values for Friday and Saturday, more of a ? mark for Sunday.

Its pretty much on a par with the record fall of snow last end Nov 1st December of 34cm. Two absolute records in one year-as a now dead BBC Sports commentator oft remarked-quite remarkable!

The high cloud disappeared late afternoon, to give a cloudless end to the day, temps at Mumbles rose to 22c at 6pm, car temp of 27c and a shade temp probably not that far from 25c here.

I would take this any day of the year, in Sept though is something very special.
