920 METAR puts Newcastle Airport at 16c (dew point 15c) after an extremely mild night with drizzle, cloud and mist. Extensive cloud should keep today overcast but it has been a brilliant spell.

19.1C here, dry and warm. but noticeably more cloud encroaching from the NW, quite thick cirrus and Altocumulus, a few chinks in the cloud, but suggests an increasingly cloudy day and suppressed temps

15.1C min in Cleadon, currently 15.5C. It's dull with some intermittent rain, and the skies resemble those that I often see during thundery situations with haze, high cloud and a lot of intricate formations, but I'm not expecting any thunder. Although the night wasn't significantly warmer than the preceding one, it nonetheless felt much warmer, presumably due to higher humidity.

Very interesting all the differing wind directions around the nation - rain bands moving south, east and everywhere really. Same in Washington as in Cleadon TWS, some quite interesting cloudscapes in the scheme of things (drizzle and mist). Quite autumnal.

According to the radar there's a fairly dense scattering of light showers across this area although no rain is falling ( not here anyway )

Presumably the radar is picking up high level precipitation which is not reaching the ground as, when I took the readings this morning, there were numerous clumps of thick Ci and Acu with virga.

A fine morning with a current temp of 21C and a light southerly. One interesting feature was that earlier a third of the sky was covered with a sheet of Ac but there was a very sharp cut off between that and the clear air. Any theories why this should be?

Would that be 4 record days in a row ? Has that ever been done before ?

Definitely, it happened in September 1895, October 1908 and October 1921. Just to name examples from a similiar period in the calendar.

There were 6 consecutive date minima records broken just last December
