Wow not often met office gets the overnight lows wrong by about 5c to 6c. Cold here at 3.2C and clear. I'm guessing a ground frost which will be the first one of autumn.

Not half jealous of all of these ground frosts! Only managed 5c due to cloud not pushing out until after 11pm at the least. Grass is cold and crunchy still though - great sign that halloween and bonfire night comes soon. Hopefully the clouds will stay clear for the next 24 hours so we get a warm day and frostier night :)

Quite a cool start relative to recently though also not as cool as some areas here. The cloud which moved in again yesterday evening cleared at some point allowing the temp to drop to 5.8C. Not the coolest of the Autumn so far though.

None the less this ended the latest run of mild nights we've had here this Autumn.

Edit: forgot to add it's currently 7.4C with sunny intervals and patchy cloud.

Lovely crisp autumn morning here in the Lakes, sunny and 10c with a light Se'ly breeze.

The fells look razor sharp and the vivid autumn colours look beautiful.

15c and climbing. Looks like a very clear sky for this evening, might see 2-3c again !!

I'm more pessimistic here with cloud likely tonight here, but the uppers gradually get cooler, so single figures again is likely. 14c currently.

    • Wet March so far with more rain for the rest of the month, but hints of more settled weather early April

It's been a wet March for much of the UK, with well above average rainfall, though the Northern & Western Isles have been drier than average. Despite a colder drier respite on Monday, staying generally unsettled to see out the rest of the month. But hints of some drier weather in early April. Read the full update here
