A few clear spells at first last night allowed the temperature to fall to 7.0c, though cloud increased later and the temperature began to rise through the night and early hours. Staying dry here. The morning to observation has been dry, rather cloudy with bright spells, mild. Low cloud thinned and broke up by late morning allow long spells of hazy sunshine through to late afternoon. Feeling very warm indeed for the late of October, despite a fresh at times strong e wind. Top temperature 18.1c.

Just starting to rain after some warm sunshine through the morning and early afternoon. Quite odd to have a front arrive without a general increase in cloud before it, the sky here is quite clear to the E/NE and very dark to the S/SW.

Some hazy sunshine at times earlier but on the whole a dry and cloudy day after a very mild night (low of 14c), high today of 16.7c

Writing from a roasting scandinavian log cabin in North Yorkshire- it's been a beautiful day; satisfactory clear spells turning cloudier late on. We are expecting rain later; and into tomorrow morning. Currently 12c, high of 15c under a gusty SE wind.
