OMG what an amazing thunderstorm, i dont think i can recall a storm that had lightning like that, very loud thunder with it also.

Had a text from the sis not too long ago saying they had broken down in very heavy rain and on being seen to by the AA, had a few claps of thunder in Bristol.

Now just need something here in Egham. Looks like Kent is getting some action.

Had a flash and rumble to my south here in Reading about 45 mins ago but nothing since. Correlates well with detectors. Also had an aweome hail downpour at work around 16:30 and on the train home there was a beauty of an anvil visible as the shower/storm moved off north (photo below), shame about the window reflections

Most of the lightning activity now appears to be across Eastern England.

There appears to be two portions of lightning activity, one area across southeast England and another across east Anglia and Northeast England.

Heaviest rain since the floods of 2007 here in Grimsby. Hail, frequent thunder and fork lightening.

Awaiting it across the Humber now, Got a message from my overjoyed housemate who had to drive through torrential hail and thunder on his motorbike.

quick update from hull. currently a thunderstorm, slow moving on south bank of Humber, frequent lightning (mainly elevated) although there has been some large fork strikes, and close, no rain yet.

Fairly nasty storm just pushing through northwards, with some spectacular forked lightning and very loud thunder accompanied by very heavy rain and squally winds

Can hear thunder here in Hull now, not raining yet but just had a very bright flash of lightning.

Had some impressive downpours earlier, with some unbelievable cloud structures and formations, didnt hhear any thunder or see any lightning, but there was some reported on the Island
