The lightning I saw tonight is the first night-time lightning I've seen for a while! (2009 I think)

Hi Peter,

Wish I was still up there now lol, that band of showers giving the storms up there passed over Nottingham earlier with just a moderate shower and no thunder or lightning.

It was supposed to be a good move coming to Nottinghamdoh.gif

Really kicked off in Darlo about an hour ago, many flashes and loud, prolonged rumbles of thunder.

Still seeing occasional flash to the North.

I saw some great lightning over Shotton, it is now heading over Newcastle - seems to be clearing behind now.

Big flash! Big BANG! biggrin.png

And again!

Very unusual for lightning to make it this far north in these situations.

Can still see odd flashes from the north, one or two quite frequent flashes. Quite cold out there now too.

Can confirm that thunder was heard here too, torrential rain for about 10-15 mins literally poured down. Great unexpected little band of showers!

Had this Lightning activity originated in the West it would never have made it this far North by now.
