2nd/3rd November 1984 Washout

A slow moving cold front developed a depression on the 1st of November 1984, which produced a washout for some parts of Great Britain on the 2nd and 3rd. Ahead of the cold front was a very mild SSWly flow with temperatures as high as 19C in central London.

Some rainfall totals include 163mm at Keswick from 6pm on the 2nd to 6pm on the 3rd

58.4mm at Kinloss on the 3rd

53.5mm at Dyce on the 3rd

45.0mm at Edinburgh Airport on thr 3rd

34.8mm at Manchester Airport on the 2nd and 3rd

26.6mm at Durham on the 2nd

22.1mm at Great Malvern on the 2nd

20.1mm at Finnigley on the 2nd

15.0mm at Cardiff Airport on the 2nd

14.2mm at Shawbury on the 2nd

It was really wet that day around here.

Did Nov 1984 or was it 83 bought a lot of dry frosty weather that stayed for many days. I remember our dry ski-ing being cancelled 2 weeks in a row as was too misty/icy ?

It wouldn't have been November 1984, but there was an anticyclonic spell in the third week of November 1983. November 1985 had a lot of cold anticyclonic weather.
