Big downpours between 3:30 and 4pm today but yet no where seems to have had Thunder or Lightning today which is surprising!

Looking ahead, with the pattern pretty much stuck in a rut, we could be looking at more thundery episodes next week as already hinted by the GFS. This remains a possibility until this pattern shifts.

Has been absolutely heaving down here for the last hour having started raining about 3.30. No thunder but then again it's 2011 so I guess that will have to do. Makes a change to see the whole road submerged in water - something I would never see in Egham.

Around 4.50-6.30am friday had one of the heaviest deluges ive ever seen, tropical rain forest intensity, so loud it woke most of the block up! someone up the road(4miles!) has a gauge and recorded 25mm from the evening before up to friday morning, i think i know when most fell! but thats a few miles away and we could have had more here. and a short downpour late friday evening to.

Map below indicates 24hrs of rainfall up to 12pm friday, deep blues high amounts and the purple areas are the largest totals,
