dry and sunny with just the odd wisp of Ci and Contrail, no wind, min was 4.4C

Far too windy here for a low min despite clear skies, wind gusting up to 30mph overnight.

Low 3.8C.

Stark contrast to the conditions on the other side of the Pennines in Eastern Cumbria, light winds and fog.

Shap was -2.8C at 0700z. With fog in the Eden Valley and Solway Firth area, these areas could have a chilly day if fog persists

Quite an interesting day and night coming up. Possibly the first single figure maxima of the autumn, and tonight the possibility of the first air frost of the autumn. Could be our best chance for a while looking at the GFS's latest output. Nudging 2c now.

A nice, crisp, frosty start this morning, I think this is only maybe the second or third air frost we've had so far this season? Hopefully more days like this to come soon.

Much colder than forecast.. ended up finished 3.5C. Unfortunately because of the nature of the drop, we didn't get a ground or airfrost, the temperature was 5C with a breeze at 5am, then the breeze dropped and the 3.5C was recorded at 7.30. There wasn't enough time for the ground to go under 0C, however it must have been close.

Currently 6.3C

Tonight is a dead certain airfrost, and the first ground and air frost of the season.

Well we didn't get a frost. The min was 4.4C and it's now 6.2C under blue skies.

Really am starting to wonder if we will get as much as a ground frost before December :(

Backtrack- tonight you should easily get an air frost.

Now 5c here, going up about 1.6-1.8c per hour. 9-10c the predicted max and -1c to 1c the predicted low. Lovely weather.

Then you don't know the Western climate mate. It's much different to yours in the East. I'll struggle to go below 4C. I bet you a tenner.

7.7C now.

We're under a high pressure cell with clear skies and inversion max. MO says Runcorn 1c tonight. I'd say 1c at least.

I wouldn't bet on that. Our temperature really struggles to fall after 9pm. I wouldn't care how strong an inversion was, we really struggle to get below 3C before mid-December. It's the climate in my area, and frankly it sucks.

First single figure maxima of the season for you today?
