Your latest weather reports!

With Christmas getting nearer, and with colder weather approaching, I wouldn't be surprised to see the weather reports in the next few days become increasingly 'wintry' in nature. :')

Currently partly cloudy with the temperature just below 9*C. A little bit windy, too, with winds blowing from the South-South-West. No snow so far. ;')

When we get an easterly (Dec 17 2009, Nov 24 2010) do we get a cold front in to begin, or does the cold air just gradually move towards us and snow follows without a cold front? I know that when a Pm or Am airmass is introduced, we usually get a cold front, some severe, but do winds from the north-east or east ever have a cold front, or do they usually have one?

Thanks.

Cold front really packed a punch last night. only had 1.3mm of rain from the squall line, and the winds were not strong, gusting only to around 25mph.

Current crystal clear skies.

Currently it's 4.8C down from 10.1C at 1:23am. :)

Windchill - 2.3C

Dewpoint - 3.1C

Wetbulb - 4.4C

4.8C is also the min, and is still dropping.

Edit: 4.7C :winky:

Several times recently the 24 hour maximum has occured overnight due to the timing of various warm fronts, warm sectors and then the cold fronts clearing around dawn to lower the temperature.

Today is no exception with the 10.4c maximum happening overnight and, since the cold front along with its' sharp showers cleared first thing, the temperature dropped to 7.9c before slowly picking up in response to some hazy sunshine and is now 9.1c!

I'm jealous!

Feeling cold here, can see my breath too at midday, a real sign winter is here. 6.4c, if skies clear (like they are supposed to).. could be frosty.

Apparently 4c in Glasgow. Dark now and there's been rain showers.

City council are spreading grit on the pavements in the city centre. Maybe they expect snow, I reckon it's just cold enough to excuse using the expensive new winter weather kit they've got.

I think those of you who are getting snow/sleet/hail should send it down here (lol). :p

Having said that, it's feeling cool with a temperature just over 6*C with some cloud about. Gentle wind blowing from the South.
