Well the NMM has the precip about 50 miles too far south. Dew points are fine but 850's are marginal. Looks like it's a see what we get kind of event.

Been snowing here in the south/east of sheffield for over an hour. Realy big flakes and settling nicely. This small low pressure system overnight , tracked further north over this area than anticipated SO fingers crossed for tonight ?

Wow.. I cannot believe it.

All that precipitation so near yet it completely misses here more more less, leaving a little slushy coating on the path.. such a wasted opportunity.

absoultly pandamonium here in east sheffield this morning buses smashing into bus stops cars hiting street post snow started at 4 30 this morning took my son to work only just manage to get home no sinhg of the gritters

met office is rather confusing, they have yorkshire and humber at 80% risk of snow showers and accumulations, but yet the forecast shows no signs of snow, not even sleet

i missed our snowfall, slept through it lol, watching it come down is the best bit too, well fingers crossed for you to see some too

Well that wasn't totally unexpected but it meant nowcasting. This goes to show how difficult it can be to forecast snow. Even with all the best equipment available you still need someone to watch how things develop. Let's see how far north this next low wants to come. They're still struggling with the fine detail...
