Looks like the MO have downgraded the risk to Norfolk and Suffolk, no yellow warning any more

I think for those of us in more Eastern areas we should treat any snow as a bonus from this set up. Our time is when the wind is in the East.

Im really confused, I look at that map it shows on the link and its so small and can't understand where everywhere is. :sorry: I see an image of a snowflake on the map though! :)

By the way, is it worth staying up tonight or would it be better waking up early tommorow?

    Is this one better....?

    http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/uk_forecast_warnings.html

I'm at the theatre tonight but I don't think we will see anything here until the early hours anyway....it would be nice to wake up to something in the morning though

I dont think its going to come as far down as me either....but wait and see i guess. Even if it does snow, it will all be gone by later in the day I should think

Yes, Thanks for that, it does'nt look as though there will be much snow here where I am but who knows, theres still a yellow warning of snow for East of England, hopefully that could turn to amber if things change again by tonight!

The very very latest model (12z NAE) pushes the snow a little (about 10-15 miles?) further into our region

However not settling anywhere in our region (this is the max - http://expert-images.weatheronline.co.uk/daten/proficharts/en/nae/2011/12/15/basis12/ukuk/weas/11121609_2_1512.gif)

According to the MetO warning, it's going to be icy through the w/e though, so if we get a flurry or two it'll stick around for a day or two. Better than snow which hits the ground and melts immediately IMO.

PEEPS. Just wait and see LP like this change course reguarly. Good example is the MET-O even they are not sure as the warnings keep changing. Still early days yet.

Winter for us has not even got going yet. However it will turn up soon. January going to be a corker.

Yep wouldn't be surprised if Luton Airport cancelled a few flights tomorrow morning. I live in Bedford and used to work in Luton, it would often snow there but not in Bedford.

tell me about it, it is so frustrating seeing them getting plastered whilst here in bedford i get a bit of slush, though last december we did get a lot of snow for once.

wonder what our chances are of snow tonight

Yeh last December was a bit different I think - the Met Office actually had a red emergency warning out before it hit. I think this time we are looking at a few snowflakes if we're lucky. Could be wrong though. Its not even going to get below freezing, thats one problem (on the day, 18th Dec 10, it snowed big last time the temperature was comfortably in the snowable temperature range, at or below freezing - we were in the grip of a proper and rare freeze)

yeah i know it was far colder last december, i got 7 inches on the 18th, a truly, truly rare event, im not expecting much tonight anyway, and even if it does snow i doubt it will settle.

Im sure the BCC local weather report looked better at 6:30 this evening from what it did this afternoon, looked like the snow had edged a little further towards us.
