Well first wintryness of the morning in Cheltenham.....very heavy hail leaving a slushy covering over everything

Id still be happy with a covering of hail to be honest as its always fun to see! :good: There is a really active cluster of showers moving in over sout wales at the moment which could be interesting for you snowking!

What's with the weird star pattern on the radar in the south of the country! (Netweather radar that is)

This is a genuine question, there has to be a reason... though be quick if you're looking it's going fast!

I watched this for a while last evening and wondered why it was thus! No-one seems to have answered you though, which is a shame. Wish I'd done a screen shot at the time, it was like a star burst firework, the colours were pretty too and it's not often we get those colours thank goodness.

Total rainfall in last 24 hours.....42mm. Highest total of the year so far.

Morning all,

Some blustery and heavy showers this morning with a bit of soft hail mixed in for good measure. The points west forecast this morning looked promising for a bit of the white stuff on the Cotswolds and the Forest of Dean, could be a trip out further afield with the dog today.

Ian F just tweeted that there is alot of hail and lightning in bristol causing traffic chaos!

Nothing more than light patchy sleet at the moment so maybe later with slightly cooler uppers and heavier showers we might see some snow.

No thunder here this morning but plenty of heavy showers. One particular bad one with very heavy hail at about 8.30 this morning forced out bathroom window open and blew kids off their bikes on their way to school.

It's proper kitchen sink weather this week.

Not as much rain as I thought we were supposed to get last night, only 10mm.

fingers crossed for this

It would be better if it was 50 miles further south to be honest. :good:

Still dry and bright here since that early light sleety shower that passed through. Before the radar crashed it looked like central southern areas of somerset and dorset will see a big shower.

Sat in my car avoiding cutting a hedge down. All sorts running down windscreen, rain, hail, some snow. Sky's gone from black to white as I type! In Stroud ..

Heavy shower just passed over, but purely just rain. I know my ASL is not good enough for snow but i had hoped for some hail / sleetyness.

Some wet snow on the tops of the Dorset Downs above Cerne Abbas earlier, according to my OH! Here, near Sherborne, we've had a couple of squally showers, including hail and a full rainbow that lasted nearly 10 minutes shortly after nine. Sun's out now.....different day!

Well what a change a week can make. There were no signs of winter outside of the Highlands this side of Xmas on the models, and Ive got intermittent heavy sleet where I am! Sure it's not snow, it's not -2c but feels like it bodes well for later in winter. I'm only 35, but it somehow reminds me of the early 80's?

Heavy squally showers with hail mixed in, here in Central BTL (at work).

Looking in the Model Discussion Thread earlier, Thursday night/Friday morning looks interesting with a LP running throughthe English Channel or maybe into France - anyway talk on there of possible snow event for parts of England - you never know.
