    Hi guys.

    I've not had an air frost yet, the minimum throughout Autumn and Winter so far has been just 1.3C... Very frustrating, very unusual.

    Have you had yours yet?

    Very nice.

    For some reason my minimum was recorded November 7th. Over a month ago.

    The frosts were later than last year, but most years down here we have to wait until November for an air frost anyway. Had 4 so far, 2 in December and 2 in November.

    2 quite decent frosts, morning of 2nd, and 10th Dec, 2 slippy mornings 5th and 6th

    min temp -2.4C at around 9am today, not too bad considering early Dec, but getting a flake of snow like pulling teeth

    There still hasnt been an air frost here yet this season. Today was painfully close with a min of 0.0C.

    Theres still quite some way to go until its the latest first air frost though. 1986/87 holds that record here, with the first frost of that season being on 3rd January.

    Since 1981, 9 years out of 31 have had the first air frost of the season after 10th December. These years are:

    1982/83: 12th Dec

    1994/95: 15th Dec

    2007/08: 15th Dec

    2000/01: 16th Dec

    2002/03: 18th Dec

    2009/10: 18th Dec

    2006/07: 21st Dec

    1984/85: 27th Dec

    1986/87: 3rd Jan

    No airfrosts here as yet, but often we wont get one until after Christmas anyway.

    We had a groundfrost this morning and that was the first one here. Minimum was +3.5C.

    I know we have defintly had one now after last night. Haven't been certain if we had before last night. It may have crept below freezing last Monday night.

    Bit of a relief to start getting some proper frosts before mid-December in this part of the world. However, we didn't record a frost until early December in 2009. I'm sure that when I lived in Gnosall near Stafford in 2006, it took a lot longer than this to get a frost. That was the year when it became incredibly frosty and foggy just before christmas though.

    -3.9C is not -4C though like your vote? different if talking money, 3.99 would be 4

    To avoid confusion on the votes just round it up/down.

    For example:

    0.5C = 1C

    0.4C = 0C

    -1.5C = -2C

    -1.4C = -1C.

    Perhaps I should of been more specific with the options. Sorry about that.

    We got our first air frost since May this morning..

    I can concur with Essan, this is the latest air frost I have ever recorded.. and if it wasn't for the wind that arrived at around 5am we would have fallen even lower (low was -2.9c)

    -1.9C at Cleadon last night, and there was air frost on the 7th November (-1.3C). It's quite interesting to see that the warmest November on record (as it actually narrowly beat 1994 in this area of the country) produced an earlier-than-average first air frost of the season, whereas at the other end of the spectrum, during 2000 (a year when the autumn quarter returned a close to average mean temperature) there were no air frosts here until mid-December.

    November 1994 also produced one air frost up here in Cleadon- there was a cold snap at the very end of the month with a mix of hazy sunshine, patchy freezing fog and a thick white frost on the 29th. These stats, when put together, suggest that given favourable synoptics and absence of frosty nights an even warmer November is quite possible (say 10.5-11.0C CET).

    Had 3 air frosts and 3 ground frosts here, got down to -3.2 last night, the lowest so far this winter. Frost lasted all day and is growing currently although i expect to be gone by morning. 15 miles west York has had no air frost with a low of 0.1 last night :mellow:

    That's kinda odd.. I'd expect York to have an air frost more then us..

    We have now had 4 air frosts this Nov/December, with last night the lowest yet reached at -3.9C but all a far cry from last year unfortunately!
