A dry night and a mainly cloudy one. A few very light snow flurries in the past hour have given the thinnest possible scattering of snow and there are still patches of yesterday's snow lying about but not enough to qualify as a morning with lying snow.

Current temp' is 0.1c after a min' of -0.1c and a grass min' of -1.9c

Rainfall in 24 hrs ending 0900, 0.7 mm

Mean wind speed, 18 mph w/nw

7 oktas Cu, Ast and Ci

Vis', 25 km

A few flakes of fine snow falling.

I don't believe it but I just looked out of the window here in East Kent and it is snowing even here at 34m asl. it's fairly wet stuff though and not settling due to the ground being wet.

In relation to the above post, while the ground being wet is a factor, I don't think it's one of the more important factors in determining whether snow will settle. The main ones are the air temperature, the dew point and how heavy the snow is. Often snow falling at temperatures just above the 1 degree mark fails to settle, especially if it is only light to moderate, because the flakes are typically starting to melt already as they reach the ground. Heavy snow with temps below 1C and dewpoints below 0C will almost invariably settle.

Currently 0.6C at Cleadon with light snow, following a spell of heavy snow earlier which deposited 1-2cm on the ground. This band actually fell as rain here between 1 and 3am despite temperatures only reaching a max of 1.5C, but has turned back to snow as it retreated southwards. The minimum was -1.0C recorded at 10pm last night.

Light snow showers and sunny intervals this morning. A thin temporary snow cover from some of the showers but none of them lasting long enough, or heavy enough, for anything significant and the main action about 20 miles to the north west.

Current temp' is 0.5c with sunny intervals and 6 oktas Ci and Cu.

An overcast morning followed by some clearances during the afternoon but little in the way of any sunshine. It has been mainly dry aswell apart from some light rain before midday. Rather cold however with a max temp of 3.1C but yet again we missed out on the first air frost of the season with a min of 1.1C.

Currently 2.4C and 92% humidity. 0.2mm of rain so far.

Theres a few showers approaching but the dewpoint is 1.1C, so they'll likely be rain or sleet.
