More a carep as you might say!

Travelled back from Anglesey this morning

+6C and pouring rain on Anglesey-little change until about Junction 14 on the M56 when briefly less wet. Soon moderate rain again and fairly misty into the Manchester suburbs with a temperature(car) showing +4 to +5C. Climbing out on the M67 bits of snow started to appear at the roadside with the temperature down to +3c with the amounts of snow increasing as the climb out on the A628 (Woodhead), closed much of yesterday as was the Snake (A57), both open today but the Snake descibed as difficult in places and not advised (traffic Manchester at 1200). Several cm's of wet snow/slush around by the roadside and still lying on roofs before habitation ceased for the upper part of the Woodhead. Rain slight and no hill fog, about 2000m I would say (1240Z). The snow quickly disappeared as the descent started to the Flouch r-a-b. Nil seen from there and no sign of anything but rain on the top with a temperature indicated of 2C. Still rain and misty conditions M1-M18 back home. Currently slight rain and a temperature of +4C.

For those snow starved then folk then for those over the east/north side of Manchester probably had 2-5cm of snow prior to yesterday but less this time on the south side although obviously areas around the A57 and A628 along with the A623 and A 538 suffered rather badly as a photo on the front of the forum shows-Cat and Fiddle this morning.

end of traffic report!
