25th January 1993 and it looked as though we could be about to have some exciting weather going off the forecast but it went all pear-shaped. Instead, at least around this neck of the woods of gales and snow showers, it was just scattered showers of rain and hail maybe a little sleet. It wasn't even that windy.

Not sure what other parts recorded but I it was an anticlimax.

Nothing much happened here that day either. There was some wet snow and sleet during the early hours of the 26th and the

mean wind speed reached 33 mph, gusting to 48.

The exciting weather occurred two days earlier on the 23rd when there was a severe westerly gale during the late evening with a mean speed of 57 mph, gusting to 93.
