Using NMM this is where the precip should be at 10am.

Using the free radar link, current "rainfall" is further east.

Of course this will have impacts but no-one really knows what they are atm.

The NW Extra radar shows it much further east than that....

I still think we need a little patience - metos mountain forecast for the beacons mentions that the precip will turn to snow more readily as the afternoon goes on into the evening - bit like baking a cake - need all the ingredients just so, to make a delicious finished cake - same here with the cold uppers digging in and the front just positioned nicely - (oh - bake at gas mark...........) :smilz38:

NAE for 12 midday and 6pm this afternoon

So who forgot the eggs!!!!

Thought we needed some lighthearted stuff.

Hi Steve,

I assume you are still in Ty Nant as well - how is my old street (I still pop past every couple of days because my sister in law lives in Peny Bont behind you) ?

JK

Yes still here John - still nice and quiet just the way I like it - theres a few of us into astrononmy now so if you drive into the street and see a few telescopes up and beers on the wall that will be us lol.

Thanks for the prediction later on today - I know its not an exact science but forewarned is forearmed (I'm starting to get the impression of a slight downturn in optimism here but lets see what the mid day runs do) - cheers again

Steve

This might end up just being a Beacons event, I think the front being further east than expected earlier is allowing temps to rise. 2.3c now

Right. I can't stand this. I need to go out for a walk. A watched radar never snows.

Reckon i'll see some white stuff but i doubt it will be disruptive

Well yes its 3.1 now but the air pressure is dropping - to be honest I wasn't expecting the rain to snow event until later this afternoon so perhaps a bit early to panic - even if it doesn't happen today / tomorrow seems like for the first time this winter we have some potential for snow at least.

Temps were expected to rise this morning, if they are 2-3c at the moment, that's OK, They should stay similar though and then fall this afternoon, as the precip sets in.

Saying that I am less confident that yesterday, BBC/meto are downplaying this and no amber warnings yet.

dew of 3.2 and temp of 3.8 ok?

Saying that I am less confident that yesterday, a lot of things need to fall into place, timing during the day being a key feature, and this may not be playing ball today.

Well that would make me feel better. However a lot of patience is needed no snow is really likely to fall this am.

What I can't get my head around the Met office give light snow for 24 hrs in Merthyr yet in Cardiff its heavy rain. I understand the difference between why rain and snow but not the heavy light description
