AMBER warning - Meto - 10cms is still 10cms and should open our account with the snow nicely in Wales - with all this lovely cold air about I'm sure later on this week that will be added to - 10cms should definitely give us a lovely "xmas" snowy look to the scenery - sounds good to me! - gotta start somewhere and build to the "feet" of snow in time - if this really stupidly cold air gets in - when the atlantic trys to shift it with it's fronts further bouts of snow will occur! - GREAT START for WALES

Where there is snow cover temps will be A LOT colder :cold:

Which areas are actually seeing ppn fall and which areas are suffering from 'phantom' ppn? According to the radar most of Wales should be seeing something but I haven't seen a single flake or drop yet!

Still looking good for snow in C/E/SE Wales where those dew points are forecast to be lowest:

Some charts above from the NAE 06z showing the dew points as we head into the evening.

Coastal parts of the SW of Wales are least likely to get snow, including Swansea take a look at Derek's tweets:

http://twitter.com/derektheweather

More or less saying not much for Swansea/Pembrokeshire and cant argue with him on this looking at the dew points maybe some falling snow in Northern and higher parts of Swansea above 100m or so i would say.

Lets see where it goes from here then, and for those who have snow dont forget to take and post your pictures! :)

Currently 3c here and rain/ sleet mix. It was quiet heavy for a while but has eased off a bit. Rather damp outside, and that will make snow harder to settle if (when being postive) it comes.

Temperature got up to a max of 3.3 about half an hour ago, now very slowly dropping and is now 3.1

Rain steady-ish, as it has been for the past 2 or 3 hours.

If I was him, I would probably downplay expectations as well, saying that i don't expect much in the way of snow falling in Mumbles.

Looking at NAE dewpoints are around or below freezing for us, further east in Carms it is a little bit milder.

Atm, i expect some snow to fall later this evening and overnight, but settling snow is another matter as it is already damp to wet outside.

Edit - looking at the radar I don't know what to think. I am not sure there will be much precipitation this evening and overnight.

As we made 10 changes in readiness for Chelsea we deserved to lose. Massive respect for pratley though for not celebrating his goal.

It is on their website imaging, but it relates to North swansea.
