Indeed, although we need to see if ensembles back into line on future runs.

In terms of precipitation looking into more detail i still feel that Monday will see showers confined to coastal districts but pushing further inland from Tuesday-Thursday, Friday onwards is when we should see the most snow and potentially pushing inland quite a bit.

It will be interesting to see what features form.

I bet Lincoln doesn't get any snow......we seem to have a large umbrella protecting us as everywhere around us gets snow and we don't!

Love reading this forum, as a newbie into charts and forecasts.

Some surprisingly beefy showers in the North Sea although the flow is too weak to drive them onto the coast for the moment.

This is always a good radar site to use http://www.raintoday.co.uk/. Find it very acuarte and helpful. For the week ahead I see it turning much colder as the week goes by. This much is nailed on now.Its what happens from next weekend that is still up for grabs. My gut feeling is that the atlantic will try to fight back which could produce battleground situations for us in our area and also the west. If the cold air does win out which is a very strong possibility we could see a very wintry month but that would come at a cost with a lot of disruption.

Back to this week I dont think we will see too much snow until Thursday. That is when it could get going with lots of showers packing in from the north sea with battleground chances aswel. Luckily Im off work Thursday through to Monday as Im laminating the living room so dont have to drive. Good luck to you all

Light rain shower turned to sleet with large wet snow flakes before dying out.

Sleeting and with more snowflakes mixed in here in Dronfield where has that come from :search:

Showers all day here in Scarborough which started off sleety. Temp was -0.6C around 7am when we had a sleet shower! Caused chaos as the icy rain hit the frozen surface turning the place into an ice rink!

Looking forward to later this week!

:)

Just up at Stanage, about 6 miles west of Sheffield and 400m asl. About 2-3 inches of snow from Friday still lying, temps around 0oC and steady light snow fall from a low overcast.

Here's hoping for much more of the same over the coming days....

The cold air isn't really here yet.

When the continental air arrives dewpoints and humidity will drop quite a bit.
