slowly ever so slowly turning into real good and proper NIX.

Rain/sleety/NIX here and i would say 10% rain 50 % sleet 40 %NIX mixture ...improved in last ten mins also!!

Hopefully will turn to real NIX in next 2 hours...then start to stick and at least pile up an inch before daybreak.

Nix is latin for snow, just incase you know....

Gave the lampost a hug earlier as i felt tad sorry for it having no snow since dec10!

Had a good look at the traffic cams and it seems that it's down to luck! Merthyr Tydfil have a dusting at the moment, however just up the road in Abergavenny it's green, not white!

None event for most of us I think..

This is a painfully slow process. Snow continues to fall but it is not settling well at all - a slight covering on cars and some of the grass but not much.

5-8cm on higher ground is how i heard it. Mostly Beacons and Black Mountains.

Not the massive snow event that we thought 2 days ago.

:p

Well some of us

Earlier on i covered the garden with a huge plastic sheet, then, as soon as it is full on snow.. i shall remove it so the snow will stick straight away, to the dry floor.

Anyone else done the same??

Mixture of sleet /snow is now.....Sleet20% snow 80% !!!!

Come on!!

Would be funny if my garden was the only one with settled snow on it in the morning....would look quite bizzarre really.

Very localised indeed.

I've got fake grass which I replace with white fake grass every winter so it always looks snowy in my garden. In the summer I put a life size lion model in the garden so it looks like the african savannah. The kids love it, well they did until they reached their teenage years. now they think i'm a complete loser. Ah well it's all bo**ocks really (including the weather in Cardiff).

I feel the urge to rant irrationally.

Why, oh why is the freezing level not lowering? It's snowing and settling in Merthyr town centre which is just a few miles north of here and at a similar altitude, yet all we've had in Nelson is wet snow and slushy deposits in the heavier bursts. I know it's still relatively early but I'm getting a little irritated. IT'S NOT THAT MILD!

<_<

Right down on the coast in Pwll unfortunately - hoping to just see some wet snow more than anything! Yes I've heared that too, I'm sure you'll get something later on :)
