its not so much the temps you should be looking at more the dewpoint which is at 0 temps are on the rise here due to nice warm blanket of cloud. -2 here but that has gone up from -4 in the last few hours as the clouds rolled in.

Just been outside in just my boxers to let the dog have a pee, mighty cold out there!

I feel all Scandinavian now.

Edit: temperature still dropping, we're at -8.6 now. air pressure has held at 1039.1mb.

According to the latest tweets on #uksnowmap it would seem that the south coast is being hit with snow first? Wasn't everyone saying earlier that the south would be lucky to get any? What does this mean for us folk further north then?

Does anyone have an accurate temperature for Bristol?...

Wunderground says -3.6ºc, but it must be colder than that surely?...

I'm in the far west of Cornwall and it was snowing very lightly briefly, now turned to sleet. Hey I've seen snow this Winter :)

Great to see even far south westerners seeing snow, albeit briefly :yahoo:

Just woke up, thought I'd check charts and update.

- front moving through faster than thought

-already bringing snow to Cornwall

-NAE charts reflect this, they seem to shift snow slightly eastwards but it purley timing differences, nothing has changed really.

-we need to harness these current lows by bring the cloud over before the sun can cause thermal heating, this should happen across most of SW

-nothing much has changed, slight improvements actually if I had to call, can't explain why- to tired

Shame, was hoping for another shift SW! Oh well! Should see something fall before it turns to rain! Thanks Paul

The south-west has quite a temperature range currently, from -10.3C in Hurn up to 8.1C on the Scilly Isles. 18C+ range is quite impressive for the whole uk in winter let alone in just one region.

Well its certainly interesting , eve n the nae charts tend to change/adjust even with 6-12 hours to go before an event, a quick question , upon the cotswolds like i am , the met at 00hrs sunday has the front about 30miles to the east of me and it tends to stay there for the night, do you think me been on high ground will help keep it as snow? Sorry to ask i dont normaly do this but im just after a bit of giudence, thanks.
