Raining here too, temp climed a little to 0.4c and dew point -3.3c. Unless the heavier stuff gives this area some sleety wet snow, its all over here.

system appears a little fragemented out in the irish sea but i'm sure it will pep up at some stage - bbc advised the heaviest will be around 3pm? So sigh of relief from me that I will on my way from work in manchester by then! After that It can snow all it wants too lol

I wouldn't be so sure of what the BBC say, what your seeing on the radar is convection in overdrive currently. about 2 hours ago it was still over western ireland..so an estimate of 3pm looks to be way off the mark with the speed this is moving

about half an hour hc

Radar is showing a definate forward edge reaching the Lancs coast now although with breaks behind before the main area arrives.

I would immagine that within the next hour or so steady something will be falling across the coastal areas.

Currently the warm front is making it's way over the Irish Sea increasing intensity as it's doing so. The cold front is just coming over Western Ireland now, this will catch the warm front, merge and become an occluded front. Thats when the main action will kick off.

Keep watching the radars.
