CF is east Leeds of by about 10 miles and I haven't seen anything particularly heavy on the radar.

Thats some exceptionally localized snowfall.

:)

That is on the path right in front of my house. can't be affected by drifting etc....quite surprised. Possible 15cm's I guess by the end of the night. It's bloody cold out here though. No city warming :) 18 miles to be exact (from Leeds city centre) Gotta be looking good for Lincs later?

Garforth 10cm's - I would concur with that by the way.

Hi Folks,

Awesome snow, heavy and blowing in Strensall North of York.

Easily 2-3 inches (plenty of drifts too).

This has so far already exceeded my expectations.

Yes, it's snowed all afternoon in Skipton but only really got going in the last couple of hours. I think there was a bit of freezing rain mixed in for a while. Still think there's a bit more to come...

Lightest precipitation still across Eastern parts of Yorkshire, can see the heavier echos to the West and NW of this part of the region.

Just a case of waiting for it to come across us now, very very slow moving, if all of this was heavier precipitation, would have lots by now. All snow has settled, there's drifts over my kerbs on the road side etc, but it's patchier in other places where the wind has blown it away.

I wonder what Reefs verdict is, as it stands, East Yorkshire looks to be escaping the worse at the moment.

I can now confirm it has stopped snowing all together. The wind chill is bitter though.

Looks like a couple of more hours of snow for South Yorkshire North Derbyshire getting the worst of it where it looks heavy on the radar. We need the front to stall again really to give any decent depth here.

Update 18.51

Steady Snowfall, increase in wind currently 18mph and rising, covered ground now and we just about an hour and a half into what could turn out to be 6hrs of constant snow fall in Lincolnshire.

4-6cms quite widely on grassy surfaces, even the main road opposite my flat has 3cms of steady cover. just been out for a snowball fight in hyde park, definately enough for a good time, which i guess is the important thing! a bit less than i woulda wanted originally, but we could still get another hour or so of snow and end up with around 5-7cms which i'd take any day after this winter so far! Just off to look at what ECM delivered!

EDIT: seen the ECM - we have yet another run there offering greenland blocking into mid february! heaviest of the snow now falling! incredible stuff!
