If you start work between 3am and 9am Friday morning in Bristol or Bath or Swindon or Gloucester or Cheltenham, then I wouldnt bother going in, just to be on the safe side!

What about here in Cardiff mate? i get the bus at 7.30am to work - would it be worth it?

850'S within the front on the NAE out to 18z are a little lower. Not a bad sign....

850s even on 18z gfs are colder at an earlier timeframe further west by around 40 miles - heavier ppn also further west. Shaping up to look much more similar to NAE.

gfs showing some pretty heavy ppn early Friday....

Also some nice stalling over Wales and North East of the SW for circa 12 hours, almost just pivoting around the SW

Have to admire Ian Ferguson for taking the time to answer all those tweets.

NAE also reflects increase in ppn values out to mid day friday...gone from circa 4/5 (mm's if rain cm's if snow) to 7-10.

You will probably be alright mate, dont think its forecast to be snow that far West ( or at least not for too long )

Think Newport/Cwmbran/Magor/Chepstow area could be the Westward extent of snowfall! But you never know, nothing is set in stone until its falling from the sky!

18z gfs brings snow into Devon and almost Cornwall through Friday - however, it's snow line is so different from NAE, I'd have to trust the higher res model at this stage.

Friday 00:00 NAE is much the same: i have a feeling the 06:00 may look very tastey!

Well if those temps are anywhere near correct for midday saturday then any snow that does settle, wont be melting very fast! But I swear I saw temps of 4c or so for sat on ians' forecast earlier.

Interestingly, it keeps it as snow at midday Friday still across a good part of our region, albeit light snow!

Think this could be considered a slight upgrade compared to the 12z!
