    Hi,

Does anybody on here have his or her weather stations hosted with Weather Underground? I have noted on several occasions over the last few years that my data has been sporadic with its updates to their servers. From memory, I have missing data in a vast part of 2010 and more recently in January of this year. My data cannot be uploaded, due to their pathetic 14-day limit. I have the data stored on my PC and would like Wunderground to have access to it but they simply cannot incorporate it as it is over two weeks old. What a crazy situation this appears to suggest. For those folk who have data hosted by Wundergound.com I would suggest that you check your uploads every week. Alongside this, do not go on holiday for more than two weeks without uploading it from your pc.

As for uploading archived data (older than two weeks), this appears to have been a grievance for Wunderground customers for many a year.

I will let you know if I get any sensible suggestions in the meanwhile.

    Regards

If nw offered a similar service would you be interested in using it?

That actually entered my mind as I was typing my previous post. :acute:

I would be most interested in doing so as long as it was for free like weatherground. :good:

Although I'm sure most members would say the same. :80:

    Cheers

It would certainly be free, I'll have a chat here and see what options we have - it's something we've often looked at and put off so maybe 2012 can be the year we take the plunge.

Excellent news Paul, especially if you can incorporate a way of stopping the data losses too. It would surely be win win situation for all.

With regard to original post, you would think that Wundergound would have at least informed me that my data was not uploading to their server. If something such as this, e.g. an alert system was put in place then I would have been satisfied.

I await further news on your interesting plans. :good:

I'm struggling to understand the problem, was there no upload for a prolonged period so they think the station is inactive?

I find the service exceptionally trouble free and have no complaints at all especially since it's free. :clapping:

You can also upload to Met Office WOW for free and it stores your data, and can produce graphs for most variables.

    That'd be cool.

I'd use it - Wunderground seems a bit mediocre to me.

And for the record, that Met Office WOW is dire!!

    Hi 4wd,

My issue was through the lack of contact that my weather station was intermittantly uploading to their servers for some reason. Ok, so it is partly my responsibility to check the uploads but as they have my email, I would have liked a response showing no incoming data. After 14 days has elapsed I have no idea whether the issue was with my weatherlink software my end or an issue their end.

Thanks for the heads up with the MetO link too. It seems there is a fair bit of competition for Paul now.

In what way is it 'dire', I'd describe it as 'business-like'.

    It works reliably enough.

A nice feature is how you can compare one of the variables from two stations in one graph.

I just find it very complicated to set-up.

I've done it now, but as a first time user, the interface is very confusing. The graphics are good yes, but they're slow loading which I don't like, and I have a very high speed internet connection.

I think Wunderground is much better.

Really hope this becomes a reality Paul. This site is so much better and easier to use than your competitor's, this would be a huge extra string to Nw's bow!
