Temperature has fallen from 6.7C to 3.6C in the past 1.5 hrs.

The continuous moderate rain has now turned to moderate sleet with a few flakes of snow. The wind has swung from the SW to the NNE and become quite strong.

It could be starting to look interesting for the South East later.

Here in Wimbledon the rain has still hardly damped the pavement and the air is almost still - in fact the sun was out for a while about 15 minutes ago. Garden in bloom and birds singing so any sleetyness or whatever later will be a shock for them. My thermometer is reading 12.3C so clearly there is something wrong with that!! Although it doesn't feel especially cold outside

the colder air is certainly in here, wind round I suspect(wind vane duff!) to NNE and picked up as well; the temperature at 1000 was 6.6C its now 2.8C with a dewpoint of 1.5C , raining, and as I type the first flakes of snow are appearing.
