There appears to be some sharp showers in Ireland at the moment currently heading in the direction of Dublin, will anything come of them?

Please post any storm reports here

Hi im rite in that neck of the woods they were

sharp aroung 1600 but have died down

abit a blanket of misty cloud has arrived i think

the showers were sparked of by the sea breeze bunmping

into the prevailing winds thus warming and rising interesting

though as i expected nothing

Kilkenny reported a thunderstorm 30 mins ago

I think i was right about how they were sparked off

temps here on the coast are only 16c while

inland 22c this caused an inversion which sparked them

off hopefully some more to come

Quite a few lightening strikes recently over Northern England according to the live UK lightening detector.

Hopefully some posters might have heard or seen something overnight.

Looks like most activity in the early hours to the northwest of Lancaster up the Lune Valley into Cumbria - but not much rainfall on the radar.

If there aren't lots of storm reports today i'll eat my hat!

What time was this activity at :?:

I was awakened at about 05:00 A.M this morning to an amazing castellanus show.

There were also fall streaks coming from saucer shaped areas of cloud in the mid layer.

It is possible that these strikes were high up in the castellanus clouds.

Which would not surprise me at all given how vigorous they were, some of them had really big towers on them.

Sadly though I forgot to take any pictures.

Though it is a sight I will not soon forget 8)

Rob-Lancs, I was up a few times between those periods and I saw nothing.

I have roller blinds which were open just enough for me to see any lightning activity from my bed, and I saw nothing.

They were probably high altitude strikes inside the castellanus clouds.

Maybe Lancaster was the same then (the sferics were going ballistic over here at 1-2am)
