a great thanks to the person who posted me the information regarding low DAM values in the uk during winter .i lost name of post ,but followed up on the info regarding german /british met research team ,it appears that a thickness of 480 to 490 is very possible ,and during 17th century early 1620s ,odviously not recorded ,but dams in the 470 480 range quite possible across north britain in the isle of white ,ice hell of mid 1500 s ,WILL POST OTHER RESULTS SOON ,

A stunning day for mid-March - sunny intervals in the morning, cloudless from lunchtime onwards. Currently clear, 7.1 deg C, wind light variable. Today's maximum 17.8, last night's minimum 4.4

Another warm day with a maximum temperature of 16.2C, which matches the max on 23rd February.

It was quite impressive as it had to get there from 5.3C, compared to 10.6C back then.

Currently mostly clear with a temp of 7.9C.

Temps here around 13-14c with plentiful sunshine, springlike and mild, however at local weather station around 9-10c in thick fog.
