Yesterday:

Mainly cloudy overnight with drizzle fizzling out. The odd cloud break after midnight allowed the temperature to fall to 1.0c with –1.1c on the grass. Thicker cloud and rain accompanied by a fresh to strong North to north east wind arrived in the area around 06:30 GMT, this quickly changed to moderate sleet and wet snow quickly giving a covering of around 3.0cm by observation.

At observation, moderate wet snow, feeling cold and raw in a strong NNE wind. The snow continued for much of the morning, though slowly turned to sleet and then rain alternating with sleet through the afternoon. The snow cover thawed away by 14:00 GMT, though further sleet continued through to early evening when it cleared away as broken skies reached the area around dusk. Very cold for April, top temperature to 18:00 GMT was 3.6c, though feeling subzero in the at times strong NE wind.

Surprisingly, I've recorded a minus figure in April. Something that doesn't happen very often in my neck of the woods.

Currently very sunny with scattered clouds. 1/8oktas. The low was -0.5C and it is now 6.6C.

Going to be a lovely day with cloud always clearing from the North East. Looks like the breeze has returned, though.

Some were expecting some potentially low minima overnight but the breeze was just way too strong for this to happen. Even the places with snow cover didn't get that far below freezing.

Shap reached -7C I believe, and some other places in N. England/Scotland were -4/-5C so quite cold for April.

Down here it's currently cloudy and 7.6C with a NE breeze, 0.2mm of rain this morning and a overnight min of 4.4C at 21:20 yesterday evening.

A cloudy day, but feeling a touch warmer compared to the snowy cold air of yesterday. Attempts of the sun trying to shine through some gaps in the clouds. The temperature is around 7.5*C, with a much calmer North-Easterly wind today.
