The temperature fell to 3.8c around dawn with a continued force 3 south-westerly wind. The morning to observation has been bright and breezy with sunny spells, cloud bubbling up rapidly now. Showers broke out across the area, though only a short light one was recorded at this station. There were good sunny spells also, though the fresh westerly breeze took the edge off the temperature.

Sunny intervals and a couple of light showers, the latest looking set to get heavier and with the first thunder I've heard so far this year. Current conditions: thunder, 12.8 deg C, wind light NW. Today's maximum 14.0, last night's minimum 1.3.

Edit: the latest shower has indeed turned heavy, with some good sized hail (around 10mm diameter) mixed in.

Started with a visible ground frost min of 2.5c then a classic april showers day but with some larger than normal CB`s spectacular at that, heavy hail shower.

Later a few anvils one gave a crack of thunder to the west.

A few snow drifts still remain from last weeks blizzard.

Nothing of interest to report here. Lots of convective clouds which were very dark at times suggesting a heavy downpour was on the way but ended up with nothing more than a few spots of rain.

A more prolonged drizzly shower around 6pm gave out 0.2mm which as far as I'm concerned is the worst rain total to get. Yet to see a dry day this month and may have a long wait to see one by the looks of things.

Close to 6 hours of sun which makes it the sunniest day of a dire April so far and only the 2nd day of the month to even get as much as 3 hours.

No interest from the temperatures either. Fairly mild last night with a min of 4.7C and a near average max of 11.1C today.

A mainly dry morning with sunny intervals. Cloudier during the afternoon, though still with sunny intervals, and with a few short light showers of rain and small hail. A lot of Cbs around during the afternoon but it wasn't until 1700 that any heavier showers affected this area. We then had a fairly heavy shower of rain and hail up to 5mm and less than 1 km away the fields were white with hail for an hour or so after this shower. Occasional short showers of rain and small hail have continued into the early evening.
