Had a very sharp long shower earlier in Walsall, skies are angry over Bloxwich again. It feels like thunder is coming...

I agree Matt, it does look thundery.....quite a lot of convective activity brewing up in the oxon/northants area with sferics detected...With the wrap-around effect of the LP centre, it's from that direction that we should look to for any storm activity IMO

Seems like one of those afternoons in the MIdlands where the anvils are spreading out and shearing off cutting off the insolation and further convection, so a lot of light to moderate showers about and just a few embedded heavy ones with thunder.

Very Shropshiresque weather here at the moment with a lot of cloudcover around, although with the odd piece of brightness showing through as well. Certainly many showers spiralling around the area. Hope some of those showers to the East will reach here, although the Low Pressure system keeps throwing the bulk of them a tiny bit too far North/North-East.

Same here. Been a few large raindrops falling outside, almost looks as though it was a little sleety, though the sleety looking raindrops were probably melted hail falling.

Are you sure?....your house must have its own micro-climate then Radders because I've been in Rugeley this morning to see some customers and it's been raining/drizzling just about all morning!....and regarding not forseeing convective stuff then take a look at the radar and see what's developing to our south...plenty

Honestly, im just reporting was I and others saw. I woke up at 6.30 and it was just slowly stopping raining, there were puddles and radar confirmed it'd been raining heavily, I then got up again at 10 and saw the puddles gone and just cloudy skies with the odd spot of rain. My next door neighbours washing that went out at 11, was dry by the time it had to come in at 3 when it started raining properly! sorry.gif.. maybe its the power station, its right on my door step.

Still raining here in Malvern, we must have had around 10 mm, at last a decent drop of rain. :)

Looks like we're in for another typical april day of sunshine and showers.

There should be some corkers today as well, with the chance of thunder and hail.

This is bliss compared to the 'nothingness' weather that has plagued us thus far this year.

Sounded like there was quite a lot of rain last night, which sounded quite heavy, too. The grass, roads and that look as though they got a good soaking.

There is currently a lot of grey thick clouds around with some brightness between. :)

This area the worst, again another sun/showers day gone wrong, bbc always underestimate the persistence of the rain for the NW, this wont stop today for me in the north west,

elsewhere in midlands a day of sun and showers

ok, for those with access to the radars, cast your eyes to the area of heavy rain and convective activity streaming off the north sea down into Yorkshire, as that's where our weather is coming from...It looks like it could be a very wet/interesting afternoon/evening....

....Mark, it's already stopped raining....lol....you really need to cheer up! laugh.png

dull and damp here, moderate rainfall but fairly uniform cloud layer atm, wouldnt be surprised if the sun breaks through again though, albeit perhaps temporarily.

Looks like the charts have now backed off next weeks potential southerly plume completely and this spell of very little sunshine and cool temperatures will continue.

Sunny weather in between the showers would be nice, only the 1st has been sunny here with every other day sticking to the 10am-4pm murk Telfords known so well for laugh.png

We've had an awful lot of rain here over the last few days, it's not been light rain either. Skies are angry again...but i've said that for three days running, no storms at all. Nice to have a bit of excitement though.

Just had a loud crack of thunder here following a heavy hail shower.

The sound of Telford's sheild breaking! rofl.gif

No thunder here as yet but getting rain on and off, skies do look threatening. Plenty of lightning showing up on the lightning detector, appears to be M4 corridor area, around north London and then up towards Coventry/Birmingham.

Another day of showers here and another day of Thunderstorms in the SE. Really getting quite tiresome now. Some have had about 6 days of Thunder already.
