I would imagine this is the storm that passed through that area at about 6pm? Looks as if it passed just to the East of Halstead. Looked pretty nasty on the radar, with rainfall rates of 250mm/hr+

I just drove past the farm that was hit. Lots and lots of proper tornado damage - at least 20 trees down and bark stripped of the majority of the trees. A barn has been totally destroyed. This was the storm passed through here at 3.50pm and you can see the radar image from that time is pretty lively! I tried to get photos but its quite a busy road. Definately worth a look.

Site investigation by Pete Scott does seem to confirm that the damage path had the hallmarks of a tornado touching down:

I was actually watching probably the same storm clearing NNE from here in S London that afternoon showing rather ominous low ragged organisaton/perhaps rotation at its base.

I live in Halstead but sadly all I saw was a very dark angry looking storm cloud from my apartment window...

erm, the report is based on yesterday's events, this thread is based on events in a different area back on the 25th April...sorry
