So...I went out for a mini storm chase...came up trumps when I saw Framlingham Castle get hit only 300 yards away. Almost got stranded though....we've had over and inch of rain here in less than 2 hours....worst flooding I've seen in a long time.

Goodness no posts since half past 1!!

It seems there has been a continual thundery area of rain feeding into East Anglia, with it very slowly edging North through the night. Quite an active area just off the coast there at the moment and there have been sporadic sferics inland through the night.

BBC main weather at 10:30 showed the rain and any embedded storms around the M4 corridor northwards up to Birmingham area overnight into the morning. If you south of the M4 your not going to see anything other than some drizzly rain & murk, the actions further north than originally forcast by the MET & GFS,

That has indeed been largely the case and there is a dry slot, however what wasn't forecast last night was the heavy line of showery rain stretching from Sussex to the Bristol Channel. Not expecting anything thundery from it here but it looks like we're going to have heavy rain on and off in Wiltshire for a number of hours!

Nice to see a tiny bit of activity from Essex into Suffolk overnight which was just about where the charts for yesterday were indicating.

Nothing of note on any dedicated sites today and little on the charts as it settles down to a quiet convective period until next week really according to current GFS:

MU_London_avn.png

Thursday onwards in the South

186_20.gif

MU_Manchester_avn.png

Possibly Tuesday in the North

MU_Aberdeen_avn.png

Lower possibility from Tuesday onwards for Scotland

Still a bit of rain to come, but if you want action you either need to be on the NW US Storm chase, or get yourself into Europe tomorrow!!!
