Essex weather reporting highest temp was 24.4c in loughton, don't know if that's highest in Essex or highest anywhere, I am guessing Essex.

Is supposed to be bit warmer tomorrow too.

I saw it was 26.4C near the Solent during mid afternoon. I haven't checked since though, so somewhere else might have exceeded this.

It's funny isn't it what different people like, don't get me wrong its nice to have sunny warm, but not too warm, weather so you can get out and about, was lovely sitting out in the garden tonight with a vodka and lemonade, but already the kids are unsettled as too warm for them to sleep, well the baby really, and people just already seem to keen to get their flesh out and seriously some people shouldn't be that keen!

I guess we are all different which makes us individual personally I would rather be in a snowy log cabin than a sweltering hot villa!

I know everyone will think am weird but like I say we are all different!

I did hear some thunder possible for some on Thursday has this risk gone now then? It was a very small risk to be fair.

Enjoy the weather anyway whatever your all up to! :)

Storms still remain for central areas tomorrow and slightly more Eastern areas on thursday however it may all change and any storms will most likely be isolated. I also prefer very cold to very hot, at least you can make an attempt to warm yourself up.

Any storm chance is incredibly low, so I'm not even worrying about get rained on.

I'm just going to enjoy the sunny and warm weather as it certainly hasn't happened often this year, where as I had to endure days of rain and some thundery weather.

I do find it funny though how one day of warm weather and everyone starts complaining how hot it is.

With temps mostly at 25/26c across southern areas yesterday I would hardly call that hot. It's pleasantly warm.

Looking forward to this weekend, although easterly winds should be crystal blue clear skies and for the complainers out there, 23c will feel cooler.

Looks like Aviemore is the current hotspot at 26C!

I hope somewhere in England can beat it later.

Me too! Just checked as wasn't sure where 27.2c had come from, I guess not an official weather station, hottest temp I have ever had to deal with was 45c...that was hot!

24.7c here.....very hazy sky though.....

At the risk of sounding too existential, where is 'here'? If you put your location in your profile then no-one need ever ask again

At 3pm:

24.9c at Charlwood just down the road from home

24.9c at Northolt just down the road from the office

20.5c in my office just down the road from another office

Some colleagues are holding a meeting outside due to the weather - I remember that used to happen at junior school with some classes, especially during the latter part of the summer term of 1976. Unlike at school my colleagues don't seem to be flicking each other's ears and throwing grass at each other (at least not yet).

Edit: they've just come back in with grass stains on their knees. Maybe the meeting was more interesting than I thought....
